Percussion-heavy world music tune. Tribal drumming meets the east. Yes, we got percussions of all sorts, kalimba and low flutes & shamisen. Let the hypnotic dance commence.
World music tune that rips off African percussions and (mostly) Asian scales. Mallets & percussions. Clever and funny feel.
Ethnic fusion from all over the Middle East. Pretty steady but weird groove. 5/4 & 7/4 for the win! Cello, out of position bandoneon, bass clarinet, sitar and some percussions.
IN TAN KEECH
West African-style tune with nothing but percussions, especially a couple of djembes. Beat set in stone & one soloing grand master.
GOBI DESERT HUMPPA
Finnish humppa. That’s like part Russian, part German ancient dance music with a steady beat. We got drums, bass, accordion, violin, alto saxophone and mandolin. Oompah hurray!
Slightly arabic-sounding, steady world music-tune. Title says it all, you know dunes and caravans. The motley crew of instruments include accordion, soprano saxophone, oboe, violin, bassoon and some percussions.
Acoustic spanish-latin fusion. Acoustic guitars, bass & some percussions. Mellotron makes a subtle appearance.
THE TALE OF THE PIG AND TWO SNAKES
Working title: Something oriental. That pretty much sums it up. Strings, all kinds of flutes and koto playing some Chinese/Japanese folksy stuff. Almost spiritual feel.
MEDITERRANEAN MIXED MESS
Folk song that mashes up influences all over the shores of mediterranean sea. Rhythm from the Balkans, mandolin from Italy, clarinet from Israel, bouzouki from Greece… For the banjo I have no explanation.
BLOOD ORANGE ORANGE
Feel good reggae, mon! Rhythm section + trumpet & tenor saxophone. Wacky organ gives this one a nice retro feel.
Irish folk tune. Naturally the featuring instruments are acoustic guitar, double bass, fiddle, tin whistle, accordion and ”almost mandolin”. Chirpy stuff!
Jazzy bossanova with drums, fretless e-bass and Rhodes piano. Electric guitar leads the way. Predominantly sad mood with little glimpses of hope.
