Another year has passed. Good riddance, if you ask me. I’ve – or should I say we’ve – had better years, right?

So, what bugged me the most in 2021?

Well, those songs, usually at least decent ones, that got stuck in my head!

Here’s a couple of nasty ones:

– Killer by Van Der Graaf Generator
– Burnin by Blue Öyster Cult
– Limelight by Rush

… It’s the darnest thing… I had a clear winner here… Song that tormented me all through the year… But… It just seems that… It is gone… And I can’t remember what it was!

Well shoot & yay. I’ll inform you later, if the bugger makes a comeback.

Last week we talked about being slightly out-of-tune, and how it really doesn’t matter.

Well, I think ESSI would’ve been slightly better without those few notes that are slightly “off”.

On the other hand, there’s like 4 of ’em in the whole tune, out of like many, many notes.

Hmm, how many notes there are in that tune in question? Hundreds? Thousands? Slightly more?

For a while, I toyed with the idea of counting all the notes in there. But no. That would be insane. I’d go slightly mad!

Instead, I counted the notes in the first bar of the tune: 12.

So, today’s Independence Day.

Our little tune for the day is MAD MADDER KING. It’s chiptune-orchestral fun with some intentional out of tuning.

I found the lead synth sound so funny, so I wanted to keep it that way, although hearing it is partly painful.

Out of tune, out of key, out of time, those are just stupid man-made concepts of forced order.

Footballer playing (brilliantly) out-of-position, liquorice in a salty dish, pedal steel guitar in a disco song… Now that’s some truly cool stuff!
